Its pretty obvious from the Hunting dogs name what its purpose is. What they do best is flush game out of their hiding spots and retrieve them. Hunting dogs are divided into Bird Dogs, Tracking dogs and Water dogs. Water dogs, like the trusty lab, are excellent in retrieval in wet lands. Do not expect it to be as excellent a bird dog and do not train it like you would a bird dog either.
Next, we move on to house pet breeds- These are the dogs that have ore sociable responsibilities and can make excellent performers. These dogs can be trained to bark on command and to fetch objects. You cannot expect this kind of behavior to come from a more fierce dog like a Doberman.
For working dogs, training should be focused on muscle building. Also, if you want a working security dog, focus on security exercises, and the same for sled pulling or sheep herding!
Another thing to consider in training is the area that you live in. It would be kind of pointless to teach a lab to fetch waterfowl when youre not even on hunting grounds, or do not even take up hunting as a sport!
Always remember to keep a dash of practicality when training your pet. Shower them with praise, love and affection too and they should do very well in the tasks you set out for them!
