Dont even think your dog is untrainable! Dogs are very intelligent
creatures and are therefore very trainable. However, there are problems
that new dog owners may encounter. Here are things to avoid when dog
training, just so you and your furry friend wont get into as many sticky
situations later!
1. Dont compare your dog to other dogs- Comparing your dogs progress to other dogs is the first recipe for disaster. Youll only end up frustrated and losing patients with your dog!
2.Dont lose your temper- Your dog will probably get scared if you lose your temper. And youll be too riled up to give the training commands properly. Both of you will suffer and the training exercise will be compromised! Also, it is wrong to yell and hit your dog, even when youre mad! You might get in trouble with animal welfare!
3.Dont let your dog become your master- Because youre afraid of being too harsh, you might become the total opposite and let your dog walk all over you! Always show your dog youre his boss and not the other way around! Be gentle, yet firm!
4. Never give up- If your dog isnt picking up things as fast as you would like, thats no reason to throw in the towel. Maybe he just needs a little more time! One day, your dog will get it! You need to believe that!
5. Be consistent- this is also in line with not giving up. When you give a command and your dog doesnt obey right away, keep at it until they do! Again, they will eventually get it with time!
