Dog’s Upset Stomach May Be Food Allergy

If your dog is throwing up more than normal, or at least once a day, a trip to your veterinarian is recommended.  Most dog owners experience taking care of your pet’s upset stomach several times throughout their lifetime.
There may several causes, the most logical would be allergy.  It could be seasonal or food related. Believe it or not, that pine tree or burning scented candle could trigger a temporary allergy. Talking to a professional will help you sort and identify the problem.
Dog’s_Upset_StomachIf your dog seems to vomit constantly, most likely, it will be your dog’s diet intake that may cause an allergic reaction.  However, it could be serious if your pet been exposed to bones, rocks, mulch, poisonous frogs, and plants.
In some cases, dog throwing up could be they have just had too much food to handle.
Figuring all this out requires you as the pet caregiver to observe your pets habits.
Try as they might, no way can a professional help you with positive results if you cannot discuss the habits and routine of your pet.  The more information you know can provide your vet, the easier it will be to resolve your companion’s problem and start a course for treatment.
If you do decide to change your pet’s diet because you believe it is food induced allergy, remember to gradually change the diet or you will be dealing with problems in the other direction…diarrhea.
The best way to introduce a different food recipe is to take several days by adding a little of the new food to your original food at approximately 1/4 cup (based on a 3-1/4 cup a day diet) daily no matter how many feedings.  In approximately two weeks, you should have completely changed to the new feed.
It will take time to see if this new diet works, probably a couple months.  Your vet will be your best friend during this process.
Being consistent is key to changing pets diet properly.
